Piltown hold on the go through to the Semi Final.
 
Ruby Norris inspired her side to go through to the U16b semi Final after a great battle and victory over St Brigids. There were 13 scores for each side , but for Piltown two of those scores were goals compared to Brigids one, and that was the difference. 

The game started with both sides trading points , Ruby Norris getting the majority of them for Piltown, the away side had a better spread of scorers, and it was nip and tuck through out the game. Norris got the first goal after 12 minutes, after good work from midfield terriers Cliona Gleeson and Aoife Malone, Kelly Conroy of Brigids scoring a monster free from half way as she used the breeze in her favour. Lucie Little was having a stormer sweeping up the stray ball, and using her wing backs to Maebh Hearn and Dara Feighery to turn defence into attack. Kelly Conroy in the heart of Brigids midfield was playing well, driving forward at every opportunity and taking scores, alongside the impressive no 11 , who covered every blade of grass on the back pitch. Ruby continued to run up the scores, from play, frees and 45’s  , ably assisted by Siobhan Aylward and Sarah OShea . With 24mins played Piltown were winning 1-06 to 0-04 , but the away side had a purple patch scoring five points without reply to leave the game level at the break .

St Brigids continued their scoring to take the lead as Ava Cleere burst through the middle and put the ball over Rachel Tennysons crossbar at the Belline House end. The game swung in Piltowns favour then as Ruby scored five unanswered points to put the home side 3 points ahead after 15 minutes of the second half played. 

Brigids got their big chance after 25 minutes of the half, a big long ball from  towards the goal, dropping on top of a crowd of players just inside the 14, it squirmed free to Katie Comerford and she buried it in the net back across Rachel Tennyson , they were now 1 point up. 
 Would that be that? Four minutes left and Piltown needed to create something,  it was worked up the line by the impressive defender Lauren Flynn to Ava Flynn, she laid it off to our number 11, and Ruby put it over the bar. Extra time ? A replay? 
 But before we could ask the question, never mind wait for an answer , St Brigids NO12 scored the winning point  - Surely? But the Piltown girls had other ideas, and showed great resilience to come back, Ruby got the ball way out on the right wing and played it dangerously across the pitch towards the back post of NO1s goal. Was it wide? A Point? It was a goal, it was a keepers nightmare of a cross/shot and it dropped in too high to get a hurley on and that proved to be the decisive score.

Well done to all our panel and their management on a great game of camogie, showing great guts and determination to get back into, and then win at the end.!
