đ MATCH REPORT | Piltown 0-14 Clara 0-08
Piltown have booked their place in the JJ Kavanagh Intermediate Football Championship final after a composed and clinical six-point win over Clara on a 0-14 to 0-08 scoreline.
Traveling to Clara for a 12pm throw-in, Piltown faced a home side who had topped their group and beaten them earlier in the season. Clara started brightest, aided by a strong wind, racing into an early 1-0 lead while pinning Piltown back in the opening minutes.
However, once settled, Piltown took complete control. Showing patience in possession and sharp finishing, they produced a devastating spell of dominance, registering 10 unanswered points from five different scorers â including Cian Kinsella, Shane OâDwyer (2-point free), Joe Cooney, Aidan Walsh, and Robbie Tobin. Piltown went in at half-time leading 0-10 to 0-02.
With the wind strengthening again after the break, Clara pushed hard and battled throughout, but Piltownâs defence stood firm. Early second-half scores from Darragh Walsh and Cian Kinsella helped settle any nerves, while further points kept the hosts at armâs length despite their pressure.
In a contest where chances were evenly shared, Piltownâs composure, efficiency, and defensive organisation proved decisive. Strong contributions from the bench also helped close out a deserved victory.
